You are hope. You are your own home. You are LIGHT.

There, I Might Find Peace
poetry and prose, mantras and meditations
for peace, love, and strength

There, I Might Find Peace is poetry meets meditation, fairy tale meets cosmic wisdom. This is a collection of reflections on light and dark, hurting and healing, strength and softening.

It's a book for people seeking truth, tenderness, and harmony from the inside out. For the soul-searchers and light bearers who long to leave the world a little brighter than they found it. It's for those of us looking for that place where grace and courage meet. And for opening your heart, reuniting with hope, and finding a light to hold on to.

A note from the author:

After all this time
making herself disappear,
she performed the miracle
of bringing herself back to life.

These are the words I've learned for myself, some the rock-bottom hard way, and the words I wrote down in a book I named, There, I Might Find Peace. They're the words of transformation from darkness to light, hurting to hope, and frozen to illuminated. They come from my own contemplative practice. These are the mantras I practice to soothe an aching heart and worried mind, the meditations that have brought peace to my soul, and the stories that tell my journey toward loving myself.

These words have helped me to feel more present and less lost. When I catch myself feeling flared up, I remind myself of what I wrote down and soften. I truly hope they will help you bring more light into your life.

May these words contribute to the healing of the world, starting on the inside,

Leslie

Here's what readers are saying about There, I Might Find Peace:

I am so touched by the reflections and emotions in your book, truly.

I found it touching and beautiful, lyrical and, at times, my heart actually raced because I thought "Yes, me too!! Me too!!" It just resonated with the same personal and heart transformation stage that I'm in now.

I loved the simple beauty of not only the words but the drawings. They all brought peace to my soul.

I love the warm feeling your book gives me. I love the feeling that there are lovely people out there.

Thank you for sharing your creative power of writing.  I truly felt connection to the words.  We are all individuals on the planet but so much the same.  We are here to help each other and you have helped me.

In your piece titled 'Everything', the verse 'Getting through the longest night isn’t about outrunning the dark but finding a light to hold onto until the morning' reminds me to just keep going, to not give up, that through the chronic pain there will be ease and peace to come yet, to embrace the light, and trust that in the end all will be well.
